The EPIK stands for English Program in Korea, a program sponsored by the Korean Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. The objectives of EPIK are:
Improve the English communication and language abilities of students and teachers
Encourage cultural awareness and exchange
Improve English teaching methodology in Korea
Enhance the Korean image internationally
Who Can Teach English in Korea?
Have completed two full academic years or more at an accredited college or university
Be a citizen from a country where the primary language is English
Be fluent and proficient in the English language
A strong motivation to be a sincere, committed teacher with the interests of students of primary consideration
Eligible for obtaining an E-2 or F-4 visa
EPIK Teacher Responsibilities
Conduct English Conversation classes for Korean students and teachers
Assist with or jointly conducting English classes with Korean co-teachers
Prepare teaching materials and activities for English language education
Assist with activities related to English language education and other extracurricular activities
